Think there might be a ghost in your home and you’re not sure what to do next?

This is the question I receive more than any other in my work in the healing arts. Almost every week, someone calls, texts, or emails me with some version of: “I think there’s activity in my home. What do I do?”

That question is why I wrote When You Think There’s a Ghost in Your Home.

I wanted to create something I could place in someone’s hands and say, start here. Something grounded and approachable that could help you slow down, look at what’s happening, consider different possibilities, and feel a little more empowered in your own space.

Not everyone knows who to call or has someone they trust nearby, and the right kind of help may not always be immediately accessible. Depending on the person, tradition, or community, that help may be offered freely, through some form of exchange, or as a professional service. Sometimes you simply need somewhere to begin while you figure out what comes next.

This is not a book about learning to communicate with ghosts, developing mediumship, or crossing spirits over. It is also not a step-by-step manual for removing ghosts from your home.

It’s something a little different.

Yes, we talk about ghosts. We talk about what you may be experiencing, how to observe before assuming, cleansing and clearing, boundaries and protection, and what you can try when something doesn’t feel right. We also talk about when it may be time to ask for help and how to choose the right kind of support.

But somewhere along the way, the conversation becomes much bigger than ghosts.

This book is also about tending to the place that holds your life.

It’s about getting to know your home, caring for its atmosphere, noticing how it feels, and cultivating a sense of peace and belonging there. It’s about opening the windows, working with plants and the elements, learning about the land beneath you, offering gratitude, creating blessings, and finding simple ways to care for the space you return to every day.

Whether home is a house, an apartment, a condo, or something entirely different, you can develop a deeper connection with the place where your life is unfolding.

Written from an animist perspective, these pages approach the home, land, plants, elements, and living world as worthy of respect and care. At the same time, there is room here for different beliefs and ways of understanding what we experience. You do not need to share my worldview for this book to be useful to you.

Inside this 157-page guide, we’ll explore:

• How to observe what’s happening without immediately jumping to conclusions
• Practical explanations alongside energetic, spiritual, or unexplained possibilities
• Grounding, protection, boundaries, and discernment
• The difference between cleansing and clearing
• Cleansing with plants, smoke, sound, movement, water, air, light, and other accessible tools
• Tending to the atmosphere of your home and cultivating a greater sense of peace
• Working with the natural world with respect and reverence
• Learning about and acknowledging the land and history of where you live
• What to consider when you think a ghost may be present
• What you can try when something in your space continues to feel unwanted or unsettling
• Recognizing when it may be time to seek additional help and choosing the right kind of support
• Blessings and intentions for moving, remodeling, protection, welcoming guests, gratitude, and other moments in the life of a home
• Simple ways to build connection, reciprocity, and care with the place that shelters you

And you certainly don’t need to think your house is haunted to find something here for you.

So much of this book is simply about how we live with the places that hold us. How we care for them. How we listen. How we create boundaries when we need them. How we cultivate peace rather than waiting until something feels wrong to begin paying attention.

There is room here for the practical and the energetic, for intuition and common sense, for what we understand and what remains a mystery.

My hope is that you finish this book feeling a little more at home in your home, with more confidence in your own discernment and a deeper appreciation for the place where your life is happening.

PLEASE NOTE

This book does not teach ghost communication, mediumship, or techniques for crossing spirits over. It is not intended as a comprehensive manual for clearing or removing ghosts. It is an educational and reflective guide centered on discernment, cleansing, boundaries, protection, tending to your living space, blessings, and cultivating a peaceful home.
